Mute and Auto Mute

3 High-Resolution Meter Modes
The Escort Passport 8500 X50 makes use of three types of meter displays. The standard bar graph, exclusive ExpertMeter, and the new SpecDisplay. In the ExpertMeter Mode, the detector is capable of displaying up to 8 separate radar signals and its relative signal strength.all at the same time. Maybe you want to use the SpecDisplay, which shows you the particular frequency of the radar signal.
The Passport is a "plug and play" machine, take it out of the box, and it's ready for use. However, you have the option to customize the settings to enhance driving comfort. The options you can program are the AutoMute, Meter type, Brightness level (which includes the full dark mode), Audio tones (two levels), and your choice of radar band.
Programming is simple, just hold two buttons simultaneously to enter the programming mode, in this mode, you can review and change your settings. The settings which you have programmed are kept in the Passport's memory, even when the unit is unplugged or turned off. This convenient feature saves you the hassle of having to redo all your settings every time you transfer the detector into another vehicle.
New High-Performance Laser Protection
Passport is equipped with multiple high-performance laser sensors, which enables maximum defense against law enforcement laser signals, as well as providing enhanced off-axis protection.
X-tremely Quiet
The Passport 8500 X50 is featured with Escort's patented AutoSensitivity mode, which effectively filters out other radar signals that do not pose any threat, such as remote garage door openers. Providing a quiet, yet effective driving experience, virtually devoid of false alarms. The Passport is also enabled with City and Highway modes, allowing ease of transition between varying driving conditions.
X-treme Radar Range
The new "V-tuned" radar receiver, on the Passport 8500 X50, gives extreme radar detection range on all law enforcement signals, as well as instant-on and conventional radar, X-Band, and the newly adopted radar threat, the "POP Mode". The Passport also has a 50% enhancement in detection range on the K and Ka radar bands. Digital Signal Processing, or DSP, enables extreme range, but with notably fewer false alarms.
Comes Fully Equipped
The Passport 8500 X50 comes with a quick-release windshield mount, owner's manual, a coiled SmartCord, built-in earphone jack, and quick reference card; all inside an Escort travel case.
