3 High-Resolution Meter Modes
The Escort Passport 8500 X50 is featured with three types of meter displays, a standard bar graph, Escort's exclusive ExpertMeter, and the new SpecDisplay. Using ExpertMeter Mode, the radar detector displays up to 8 separate radar signals and their relative signal strengths simultaneously. The SpecDisplay is slightly different, since it displays the specific frequency of each detected signal.
The Passport is ready for use once you pull it out of the box, but of course, Escort's flagship detector is capable of customization, just input your selections by pressing two buttons to enter the programming mode, pick the settings, and you get enhanced driving comfort, all custom-adapted to how you drive. Easily programmable are the Meter Type, AutoMute, Brightness level, including the full dark mode, the two levels of Audio tones, and the radar band of your choosing. The settings you're programmed are all saved into the Passport's memory, and stays there, even when the ignition is turned off, or the unit is unplugged for transport.
High-Performance Laser Protection
Multiple high-performance laser sensors are included in the defense arsenal of the Passport 8500 X50, ensuring superior protection against law enforcement lidar guns, and enhanced off-axis coverage.
X-tremely Quiet
Escort's patented AutoSensitivity mode is one of the notable features of the new Passport; this system efficiently filters out the signals that pose no threat, significantly decreasing false alarms triggered by other detectors or remote garage door openers. Giving you a relaxing and hassle-free driving session everywhere you go. The Passport also has City and Highway modes, just select the mode you want, and you have easy transitions between different driving conditions.
X-treme Radar Range
Passport's new "V-tuned" radar receiver provides extreme radar detection range, encompassing all existing law enforcement radar frequencies. The unit also protects against instant-on and conventional radar, X-Band, and the new radar threat, "POP Mode". With these enhancements, the 8500 X50 has increased its K and Ka radar band detection to as much as 50%. Digital Signal Processing, or DSP, makes this range increase possible, while reducing false alarms.
